Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery Results from OSHPD What are the CCMRP and OSHPD?

The California CABG Mortality Reporting Program, (CCMRP) is a partnership between the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) and Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH), which is a coalition of 45 public and private sector purchasers of care in California.  This cooperative effort between the state, purchasers and hospitals has provided Californians with the first report on bypass surgery outcomes for California hospitals.  The public release of comparative surgery information assists patients when faced with making a decision about where to receive treatment.

What are the Results for Raney Zusman Medical Group?

The following data is for the calendar year 2005, where the surgeons performed 293 heart bypass surgeries, and the results are excellent.  There were only 4 mortalities in the year, including patients that were very sick before the operation with other medical conditions.  The observed mortality rate was 1.90%, compared to a statewide average of 3.08%.

The rating reflects the commitment of our surgeons and the large number of supporting specialists in cardiac care to providing the highest level of excellence in surgical care for our patients.  To find out more, please visit our sections on heart surgery and lung surgery procedures.
